Content marketing - Why aren’t you seeing results?

Content marketing often comes with promises of riches and business growth. For example, conversion rates are six times higher for companies who use content marketing than those who don’t. Even the biggest companies do it. Coca-cola spends more money on content creation than they do on television advertising altogether.

But what if you have recently started creating your own content and, with all the time and money invested, you have nothing to show? What could be the problem?

Those with experience in content marketing know creating compelling content isn’t as simple as whipping up a blog post once a week. It seems like you have top quality content to offer your customers and are on track to harnessing the power of content marketing. But, if you are doing all of this, and you don't see any results, the issue could be much simpler than you expect; you need to give it time.

Content marketing is a long game. Instant results aren’t part of the package. On average, for a small-medium business, it takes a minimum of six to nine months for you to see a return on your investment. In extreme cases, it can take over a year. But, as long as they take to come, the returns you receive are likely to boost your business to the top of its game. Don’t give up on your content just yet!

It is a good idea to check your analytics to make sure you're on the right path. If you notice more traffic and engagement on particular themes, perhaps you need to slightly tailor your approach. Are you following a well thought-out content schedule?
