The one thing we’ve always HATED about bought data is two-fold. The poor recipient on the other end probably gets about 30 junk emails an hour. That’s a problem for them and it’s a problem for you – what’s the point if they’re not reading it? Now, customers who opt-in do so because they want to hear what you have to say. So go ahead, share your knowledge and expertise. Talk about what’s going on for you and your industry. Your customers are waiting.

We’ve sat with customers who wanted help putting an email marketing campaign and their proposal was a series of dropping prices and “exclusive offers”. Stop that. Stop devaluing both your service and your industry. If you truly believe in what you do and your pricing is fair, then start educating your clients. Highlight your value and what makes you different. Not what makes you “the best”. There are so many companies offering variations of the same service, is anyone “the best” anymore? Let’s be real with each other and play to our actual strengths.
